• This service helps to migrate databases to AWS quickly and securely. 

• The source database remains fully operational during the migration and there will be minimum downtime to applications that rely on the database. 

• This Service can help to migrate data to and from most widely used commercial and open-source databases.

• It provides support for homogenous migrations and heterogeneous migrations, both.

• It allow users to stream data to Amazon Redshift, Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon S3 from any of the supported sources.

• This service can be used for continuous data replication with high-availability.

• If migrating databases to Aurora, Redshift or DynamoDB, a user can use DMS free for six months.

• There is no need to install any drivers or applications, and it does not require changes to the source database in most cases.

• This is a low cost service. A user only pay for the compute resources used during the migration process and any additional log storage.
